US visa - check (10 years!! wooooooo!!)
Yes, sometimes pms makes me even more of a tiger... but that's not what I am referring to :)
I finally decided on going for the colour on my tiger, and the blossoms... it has come out so unbelievably well that S said he gets goosebumps looking at it, and he's the one who did the work!
Just the white to go, in the tiger, and his beautiful eyes... and then he's all done...
and i can start working on the next!!
and my man also sent me some early birthday flowers...
they surprised me at work... it was amazing...
i am a lucky woman...
i can't wait to see him again.
so I got new ink... finally got my tiger tattoo that I've been wanting since I was about 16 years old...
it's beautiful.
it's a work of art.
it's not finished - but it's already a source of pride for me, and for my friend S, the tattooist.
his best work yet...
it took 7 hours in total, with breaks for tea and stretching and for lunch (thanks M!)
about 5 or 6 hours of tattoo time...
I missed my man... desperately... but not because i was scared... because i was just so filled with endorphins, and felt good and wanted to share the moment with him...
Just got shading and the colour to go - beautiful vibrant oranges and yellows, and whites, for my tiger, and reds and dusky pinks for the blossoms.. the rest will be black and white and however S wants to do it - it's his artwork, just my skin :)
I even got a "ah, that's very nice" from my mother... *wide eyes*...
I am almost done "scabbing"... i heal really quickly.. so i'm hoping to start the colour and shading in the next week or so... i can't WAIT!
I'm already planning my NEXT tats! Now that I know i _can_ handle the pain, etc, without getting wobbly or silly... i have so many ideas, and a willing tattooist!
Hallowe'en night was pretty chilled - the only token item I had to show my We'enness was my pair of red horns...
So these I wore. It was a very hot day and a long, warm summer afternoon and evening... so I was dressed accordingly in boardshorts and a little top...
well... i got a rather interesting (and, i have to admit, rather naughtily pleasant) reaction from the dads who accompanied their little kids on the trick and treating...
they stood for a strangely long moment, looking at me, as i opened the gates with my bowl of goodies, and then the one dad told his kids to say thank you (which they did, in chorus) and then another dad said "yes.. thank YOU very much" and other comments followed from the other dads, in a similar vein...
i got stared at for a few moments longer and then they hustled off after their kids who were already moving on to the next house...
last comment i heard was "she had yummy treats..."
i only had chocolate biscuits and things like that. no sweets or anything...but TimTams are yummy, for sure!
Been house sitting and playing "nanny" to two teenagers (13 and 16) for the last week...
It's been... different. Interesting.
They depend on me, but not in a horrible needy way... just as driver and maker of dinner and please-can-you-plait-my-hair and help with choosing a leotard for dancing and going shopping for a survival trip and you-can-watch-the-F1-with-me-if-you-want-but-you-don't-have-to
the boy (the 16 year old) is one cool little dude. i have to say he reminds me a lot of my man (not in that way, i SWEAR! i'm not THAT perverted!)... also very sarcastic and cynical (to a lesser degree of course... but it's definitely blooming... and i definitely encouraged it! we had a "sarcastic war" in the car on the way to the shops... it was fun - defending myself verbally against a 16 year old... thankfully i kept up!) and he is cute now, but will be a hotty in a year or so, that's for sure... he already has girls swooning over him (although he probably doesn't notice them "circling" the car, while we wait for his sister at the all girls convent school). i tried to not smirk as a young girl "accidentally" let her towel drop while walking by the car (she'd been swimming) and pretended i didn't see... while watching the boy in the rearview mirror... he was totally unaware... i rolled my eyes..
the girl is _gorgeous_ .. a delicate beauty - does ballet and swimming (synchronised) and she's very 13. very.
boys. friends. clothes. music. boys.... in that order... but she's very sweet... i'm not quite what she's used to, so it's taken us some time to kind of click... but we are doing ok.
The dogs are lovely - Lucky, a little maltese cross, is a stubborn little mutt, but FULL of character... and Jessie (i call her JESSICA in moments of frustration... of which there are many) is a HUGE Airedale (black).. she has the biggest mouth i've ever seen on a dog, but the BIGGEST heart too.. an absolute softy, not a mean bone in her body... and it's a BIG body...
Tito and Sparkles are the cats - both very talkative, now that they know me and they know that i will indeed give them tuna. very loving (Tito follows me around and plonks himself down nearby when I am at the house) and VERY clever... far too clever (they get into EVERYTHING unless it's tied down and hidden away)
Yesterday... 1st of September... Spring Day, here in South Africa (being on the bottom of the world, we are all backwards in our seasons :)) i was in the mall (trying to sort out some rather worrying internet banking issues... in short: somehow, someone signed me, using one of my credit cards, for 3 porn sites - subscriptions... so i rushed to the bank to cancel it all and try and block anything) and i went to the pharmacy (for another reason) and as i was leaving, i saw a sign in the window "Ear Piercing Done Here" ....
so i thought "i wonder if they do nose piercing?" and i went in to ask...
next thing i knew i was on a chair, in a corner being told "Brace yourself, so you don't jerk away... because that WILL hurt"...
and it was done. 3 seconds.
i am now the proud owner of a bar of steel impaled in the left side of my nose...
sounds awful, but it actually looks rather nice!
and the boy _really_ likes it - which of course made it ALL worth while!
i got through my first "cleaning" with minimal issues... (the first cleaning last time, is the reason i don't have pierced ears... there was blood, a drop really, and wham, i was out cold on the bathroom floor! i was 7! it was too much. i took them out and never got them done again and got the total heebies if i thought about pierced ears too much - can't even help my mom put hers in.. makes me feel QUITE ill) but this morning there was a little bit of caked blood around the steel... i said to myself "if i'm going to faint over something QUITE so pathetic... then let me sit down" so i sat on the floor in the bathroom, surgical spirits and some cottonbuds, and a mirror...
i _did_ feel a little queezy when i had to twist it a bit to unstick it... but, i was sitting down! and i remembered to breathe... i think that's always been the issue.. i forget to breathe... so of course i would feel faint...
so i just gave myself a little time... and voila
i was fine!
i must keep it clean - especially in my line of work, and with the things i do during the day (horses, dogs, mud, sand, dirt, hair...) so i'm just going to have to get over this little "thing" i have, and DEAL WITH IT like a grown up...
i have to keep it in for 10 weeks...
it wasn't sore at all when it was done - just warm... but i was too busy trying not to faint to notice anyway!
But this morning i have to say it started to actually hurt a little... throb in time with my pulse... but i've taken some tablets, and i'll have some arnica... and all will be well...
i'm NOT giving up this time...
The bank annoyed me yesterday.
They "suspended" my credit card, because i missed a payment (R250...) by 3 days.
I've been with this SAME bank, SAME branch, for 26 years.
And they have the nerve to send me a rude sms and shut my account down?????
I was not amused.
I sent them a rude sms back - there was mention of poop flinging and waving of hands.
I retried my ff order this morning, and VOILA it worked.
The power of Going Apeshit.
Slowly catching up with all my orders, paperwork and printing.
Sent all my jumbos to ff to print (the above order)(over 300!) and now i must just do cds.
7 of them. But MOSTLY "new" shows... so i will have them accessible.... a couple of ancient archived shows though...
I'm gradually getting back to a good place though.
Now, of course, I have the Nelson's Creek Eventing weekend photos to sort!! But i'm not panicking about it... i will just get to it as i get to it.
My orders are far more important right now - some of the people have been waiting since March! (late march, sure, but still MARCH!!) and i hate letting people down.
What a weekend it was, too.
And Jamie's 21st on Saturday night as well...
i was bloody exhausted... and then the stomach bug struck, while i was tired and vulnerable, at 4am on monday morning.
man oh man was i in pain. throat was raw from throwing up! weak and wobbly.
missed my ride on Cuppi :(
but will ride him Wednesday morning, i'm sure!
Got A.T tomorrow too...
I need it.
especially after the last 2 weeks of misery.
oh man i love my soldier boy.
just ADORE him.
thick and thin, baby. my heart is yours.
forever and ever.
no matter what.
